Shell-rock house in Crimea
A single-storey house, 8.7 × 10.7 m, with three bedrooms and a terrace along the main facade. The walls are 380 mm shell rock — the local stone that keeps the heat out in summer and needs no insulation; beneath it, driven reinforced-concrete piles, because the ground near the sea is weak. Loads are calculated for Feodosia, where snow barely counts and wind decides everything.
